1979 Chevrolet El Camino
Temporary price drop from $16,000.
1979 El Camino SS. Runs and drives excellent. Very, very fast with a lot of horsepower. Doesn’t stall, runs and idles great. Originally had a 5.0 305 V8. Now has a nice, high horsepower 5.7L 350 V8 crate engine with 25k miles on it since it was installed. Has decals and front nose from a newer 86-87 SS.
All black interior Newer steering wheel Newer carpet Newer seat upholstery cowl hood big rear sway bar aftermarket headlights and steering wheel fresh 350 engine with only 25k miles on it Nice Z28 wheels Newer 86 SS front facia and decals Nice tires Fresh oil change New radio X pipe/crosspipe style dual exhaust New AC compressor and freon replaced AC control unit Body has a few door dings and scratches etc. Bucket seats with warn headrests. Windshield is cracked and needs replacing. Voltage and temp gauges not working. I’m a very picky car guy, so to me the steering feels like it could be a little bit tighter, I haven’t looked into diagnosing it, maybe could use a $159 steering gear box. I don’t know if the odometer has rolled. The title reads 50,611 not actual miles. Extremely well put together car. Would likely cost much more than my asking price to try to build this same car today. Previously owned by a guy who owned a trans shop. Nice exhaust that sounds great. Motor also sounds very, very healthy. No catalytic converters. So if you’re registering around phoenix or anywhere that tests emissions, you’ll need to get Grundy or hagerty or any classic car insurance or buy two magnaflow 51206 converters online or anywhere and have an exhaust shop throw them on. I’m a weekend hobbyist/car builder and a big car guy. My cars are very mechanically sound. I’ve had people drive/fly in from Dallas, San Francisco, El Centro, Prescott, Show Low and Los Angeles in the past to buy old cars from me. All of the 1978-1987 El Caminos that I see for sale at car shows around Arizona, the guys are asking $24,000 – $27,000. So my dirt cheap price should leave you a lot of room to spare to make any kind of minor repairs or upgrades. The nose nowadays costs $3000 + tax + shipping + paint + install. https://honestcharley.com/product/el-camino-ss-complete-front-nose-kit/

I might be able to meet up with you in Scottsdale (about 9 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor airport, if you want, instead of Payson) to give you the car.
