This economical disc brake kit for Chevy 10 bolt or 12 bolt axles is simple to install and provides big stopping power, at a price nearly the same as replacing original drum brakes. That Chevy engine power makes it go, but these binders clamp down when you say whoa! Today’s average family sedan can stop from 60 MPH in 120 feet, at nearly 1G of deceleration. Superior to Drum Brakes

Aftermarket disc brakes are superior to original drums in many ways: more braking force, less brake fade, and easier service. Stopping power starts with newly manufactured single piston calipers. Large 11” diameter, 1” thick vented rotors provide more stopping leverage than common 9” or 10” drum brakes. Brake pads are easier to change than drum shoes, and our brake kit includes a street-friendly organic compound for long rotor/pad life. Replacement pads are common sized, available from your local auto parts store. Looking for more aggressive stopping power? We carry race-grade D154 disc brake pads that drop in just as easily.

Fits Chevy 12 Bolt and 10 Bolt Housings

This disc brake kit fits Chevy 12 Bolt and 10 Bolt rear axles. Included bracketry will adapt this kit to both Chevy 10 bolt and 12 bolt housings with non-staggared shockes. Fits axles with a .050 x 45 degree chamfer, with a 2.786 inch maximum register axle.  Does not fit 14 inch rim, and it will be requrired to use a 15 inch or larger rim to clear the brake calipers.

Hardware and Instructions Included

Kit includes a detailed, step-by-step instruction sheet with images. The large bore single piston calipers include self adjusting E-Brake based on the 1979 Cadillac El Dorado. Cast iron rotors feature a dual bolt pattern in 5×4.5” (Ford/Mopar/AMC) or 5×4.75” (Chevy/GM) to match your desired wheel hub pattern. Plus, this assembly will clear most 15” diameter wheels designed with disc brakes in mind.

This kit is an aftermarket solution. It is not intended to be a direct installation or OEM replacement. Due to changes in production in certain years, your application may require modifications beyond the instructions for this kit to install properly. If your axle shaft flange or axle shaft register exceeds the diameter that clears the rotor dimensions, you will need to machine the axle flange and/or the rotor to clear the diameter required.
