Shipments within the Continental USA

Most of our products ship via FedEx Ground or USPS, but we also utilize other convenient and cost effective shipping services.  All  orders are shipped within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. States close to Michigan usually receive shipments within a few days, west coast orders can take up to 5 days.

Hawaii and Alaska Orders

All Canada, Hawaii and Alaska orders will be shipped by postal carrier. The cost of shipping to Canada must be determined after the order is initially placed. An invoice will be sent to you with the corresponding shipping rate. In the event that an invoice for shipping charges is not received, please message us via the seller link to get your rate.

International Shipments

All international orders are handled via eBay's Global Shipping Program. International shipments can at times take several weeks to get throught customs so please keep this in consideration.

Returns

Returns & Refunds

Motorcity Super Cars stock items may be returned within thirty (30) days from the purchase date. All returns are subject to a 20% restocking charge. Shipped costs must be prepaid and merchandise must be in resalable condition (see below). Returned items must be in new/unused/resalable condition and must be accompanied by a copy of the ebay order or full legal name of seller, eBay user ID and email address for us to process any claim. No returns will be accepted after 30 days from the purchase date. No returns will be accepted for any portion of a complete set.

We do not provide call tag service for parts pickup. The customer will pay freight on all return orders. Mailbox stores charge service and packing fees that are not refundable by Motorcity Super Cars.

Resalable Condition

All returned goods are to be in resalable condition. This means we will not accept a part used on a car, greasy, damaged, bent or without the original box. Resalable means in the same condition as you received it in.

Damaged Packages - Shipping

Report damaged packages immediately by sending a message through the seller link. Please include pictures of the damaged product AND package in your message. Damages MUST be reported WITHIN 48 HOURS of receipt of the order. 

Shortages or Incorrect Orders

If there is a mistake on your order, contact us immediately via message though the seller link and we will make arrangements for the exchange of the correct items. Delrin® Bushings: These a-arms are equipped with Delrin® bushings. They’re designed for the serious Road Race or AutoX car that demands a zero deflection bushing for maximum handling performance. They are a bit harsher on the street (NVH). These a-arms are available with polyurethane bushings, search for Part# 782-G in our eBay Store to purchase these.

In December of 2014 we released these RRx Seriesâ„¢ tubular front lower a-arms for the 1978-1987 GM G-Body that set a higher standard of performance and quality. They are truely the new standard of comparison.

All of our RRx Series™ tubular a-arms are designed using aerospace level technology and design tools. First we create a 3D scan of the factory a-arm using a FARO® ScanArm™ with a 3D laser scanning attachment. Then we use that 3D model of the factory a-arm as our foundation for creating a tubular version inside of our Solidworks® 3D design software.

After we’re done designing the a-arm in Solidworks®, we then use that 3D data to design the jig that we will use to build the a-arms. The jig parts are then CNC laser cut and formed on an 8 axis CNC press brake. The final result is dimensional accuracy to within .005″!

When we designed our RRx Seriesâ„¢ tubular front lower control arms, we had two goals in mind. One was to provide the performance capabilities needed for the toughest race tracks, the second was to provide the strength and durability required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle.

We’re proud to say that we have accomplished both. If you’re looking for the strongest, most rigid, and best performing front lower a-arms for the GM G-Body cars, you just found them!

Our RRx Seriesâ„¢ front control arms are a true “A” arm rather than a “V” arm. This increases the arm’s rigidity and equalizes the forces delivered in to the frame. These a-arms are completely gusseted to provide for maximum rigidity and durability, as well as zero flex.

The CNC machined coil spring mounting tube is completely surrounded and tied in with CNC laser cut 3/16″ steel gussets that are solid MIG welded. We also 100% TIG weld on CNC laser cut and formed 3/16″ steel bushing tube gussets for maximum strength and durability.

These a-arms are equipped with a CNC machined coil spring mounting tube for installation of factory or factory style (lowering) springs. The coil spring mounting base has a spring ramp that provides for proper clocking and seating of the coil spring around it’s circumference. This allows the spring to spread it’s load across the entire spring seat, not at one small area as other designs on the market do. Note: We do not alter the ride height.

Another feature of our RRx Seriesâ„¢ tubular front lower a-arms that is missing from most of our competitor’s products is a coil spring retention tube. We weld a short piece of 4″ o.d. tube to the base of our coil spring mount for the coil spring to slide over. This locks the coil spring in place and keeps it perfectly centered inside of the a-arm.

The front shock’s lower t-bar mounts to our a-arm base just like it does on the factory a-arm. What that means is you can run any front shock or front coil over system. If it mounts to the factory a-arm, it will mount the same to our a-arm. That provides you with the flexibility to run factory style coil springs or lowering springs, factory or aftermarket front shocks, and aftermarket front coil over kits, all on the same a-arm.

These a-arms come equipped with steering stops welded in place that maintain the factory steering radius as well as polyurethane bump stops that maintain the same suspension travel as the factory a-arms.

Finally, we include new spherical front sway bar end links. Our front sway bar end links connect to the a-arm with a self-lubricating Teflon® lined chrome moly spherical joint that provides a bind-free connection for maximum handling performance. The top of the end link connects to the front sway bar with low deflection polyurethane bushings.

  • Includes bind-free spherical front sway bar end links with Teflon® lined self-lubricating race and polyurethane bushings for the upper connection.
  • Heavy-duty steering stops are installed to maintain the factory steering radius.
  • Includes polyurethane bump stops that maintain the factory suspension travel.
  • Ship fully assembled and ready to install.
  • Can be used with factory style coil springs, lowering springs, or aftermarket front coil over systems.
  • Available powder coated in your choice of bright red or gloss black for a brilliant and durable finish.

Our spherical front sway bar end links connect to your front lower a-arm with a chrome plated self-lubricating Teflon® lined chrome moly spherical joint that provides a bind-free connection for maximum handling performance.

It doesn’t matter if you’re running a factory front sway bar or a larger aftermarket front sway bar, our spherical front sway bar end links will allow your front sway bar to reach its full potential.

The amount of stress applied to the front sway bar end links is severe and you need an end link that is not going to flex and/or bind up to obtain the maximum handling performance you’re looking for.

You simply bolt the supplied CNC laser cut and formed 3/16″ steel clevis to the end link mount on your front lower a-arm using basic hand tools. The clevis features a gloss black powder coated finish and all required mounting hardware is included for a simple bolt in installation.

The top of our spherical front sway bar end link connects to the front sway bar with low deflection polyurethane bushings. A silver zinc plated high strength 4140 chrome moly threaded stud keeps everything connected together.

    Do You Need Adjustable Shocks?

    Everyone knows you need to hook up your horsepower to go fast. Since the shock absorber is really what controls how the suspension works, it plays a big role. Whether you’re running in a straight line or going around corners, it’s all about traction: traction going forward; traction going sideways. A drag-race car needs to come up softer and go down harder. A car that turns needs to minimize body roll. The requirements are different, but a shock that offers variable valving plus a wide range of travel can work effectively in bot applications. Get an adjustable shock and tune it until it delivers the performance and/or ride quality that you want – then continue experimenting whenever track or road conditions change. If you want to take your street machine to the drag strip, you can make the front end fly up a little higher to transfer more weight and launch harder. If you want to autocross it, you can dial in the extra stiffness that makes it handle better. Dollar for dollar, we can’t think of anything that offers so much potential performance, or is so easy to install and adjust.

    Why Front end Geometry is Needed

    If you want to improve the handling of your ride, you must first understand what is wrong with the original geometry. From the factory, these cars were designed to understeer. To make them do this, they used a very short spindle with the upper A-arm at a steep downward angle, which results in a backward camber curve making the tires lean out of a turn, using only the edges of the tire. Not only is this bad for mechanical grip, it’s also why every stock Chevelle, S-10 or G Body wears the outside edges of the front tires. Below is a diagram of the stock geometry at rest, and then in a hard turn. Notice the severe angle of the tires. All of the cornering forces are placed on a very small area of the tire.

    To deal with this problem, there are several things that will help. Simply lowering the car will help to some extent, but not nearly enough to correct the whole problem. Bigger sway-bars will reduce the amount of bad camber gain, but again, it’s not enough… it’s like a band-aid on a gunshot wound.

    To fix the bad geometry, you need a taller effective spindle height. The “effective height” of a spindle is from the pivot center of the upper balljoint to the pivot center of the lower balljoint. Tall spindles with stock balljoints, or stock spindles with extended balljoint studs will both achieve this goal. 

    Below is a diagram of the same car equipped with a taller effective spindle height. Notice that the tires remain near vertical using the entire tread evenly across its contact patch. This is key to getting the most grip, and life out of your tires.

    The .5″ lower ball joints reverse the backward factory camber curves for a huge increase in grip. 

    They also raise the extremely low factory roll center to dramatically reduce body roll.

    Virtually eliminate bump steer.

    Lowers center of gravity by 1/2″

    Allows faster weight transfer and more positive caster for better top end stability.

    The low-friction ball joints are legal for classes that require non take apart joints or OE style joints. Additionally, all low-friction ball joints have 32 degrees of swing angle for maximum suspension travel. Dust boots are not included but available if wanted. Dust boots can retain dirt and also hinder visual inspections. You get (2) .5″ tall upper ball joints in this kit.
