Hawaii and Alaska Orders

All Canada, Hawaii and Alaska orders will be shipped by postal carrier. The cost of shipping to Canada must be determined after the order is initially placed. International Shipments

1978-1988 GM A/G-Body LS swap 4L60//4L65/4L70/4L80/TH400/2004R/T56/T56 Magnum Transmission Crossmember.

This crossmember is one part of the Hooker BlackHeart LS swap system for the 1978-1988 GM A/G-Body for an easy bolt-in engine swap. The modular design of this crossmember supports the following transmissions: 4L60//4L65/4L70/4L80/TH400/2004R/T56/T56 Magnum Transmissions (some transmissions require an optional transmission adapter – sold separately). This is a revised design and is fully interchangeable with part number 12644HKR.

The LS Swap Crossmember for the GM G-Body has some very minor design updates And has been superseded from 12644HKR to part number 12644HKR-1
Facilitates installation of a 4L60/4L65/4L70/4L80/TH400/2004R/T56/T56 behind an LS engine in 78-88 GM A/G Body applications (may require add-on bracket, see installation notes)
Designed using CAD modeling/FEA analysis for optimal fitment, strength, weight, safety and appearance
Welded steel construction
Provides an optimized engine/transmission inclination angle that is critical to obtaining suitable U-joint working angles, when installed with Hooker 12643HKR engine mounts
Designed in conjunction with other Hooker BlackHeart GM A/G-Body engine swap brackets to provide bolt-in installation of Hooker LS swap manifolds, headers and exhaust systems for this application

on some installations, it is necessary to remove the catalytic converter heat shield from the passenger side floor pan.
this generation of vehicle is prone to body bushing compression, even with some southern vehicles. If the floor pan is too close to allow installation, it may be necessary to replace the body bushings. Some customers have reported that with slight interference instances, they have been able to gently lift the floor pan with the assist of a floor jack and a wood cushion, thus providing the required clearance for installation.
the crossmember is installed so that the exhaust clearance humps are closed on the top and open on the bottom.
in some cases an rcg-700 installed with a t5 may require a custom transmission mount to maintain proper drive line angle.
