Our tubular front lower a-arms for the 1993-2002 GM F-Body Camaro and Firebird set a new, higher standard of performance and quality. When we designed our a-arms, we had two goals in mind.
One was to provide the performance capabilities needed for the toughest race tracks, the second was to provide the strength and durability required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle. We’re proud to say that we have accomplished both.
Our front lower a-arms are a true “A” arm rather than a “V” arm. This provides maximum rigidity and equalizes forces delivered in to the k-member. Our control arms are gusseted in critical areas to ensure that a weld never breaks.
Our front lower control arms can be installed on a factory k-member, or on aftermarket k-members. They decrease overall weight, and more importantly – “unsprung” weight.

Del-Sphere Pivot Joints:
The Spohn Performance Del-Sphere pivot joint solves the shortcomings of the factory rubber and aftermarket polyurethane bushings. Our Del-Sphere pivot joint incorporates a spherical ball which is surrounded by Delrin® bushing cups.
Think of the Del-Sphere pivot joint as a Delrin® bushed spherical rod end. After over a year of R&D testing here at Spohn Performance on a streetable spherical joint the Del-Sphere pivot joint is the final result. Designed and manufactured exclusively by Spohn Performance, we have taken street suspension performance to the next level.
Our Del-Sphere pivot joint features a one piece forged and heat treated 4130 chrome moly housing, a heat treated and chrome plated chrome moly spherical ball, Delrin® bushing cups, heat treated retainer washer and snap ring, heat treated and chrome plated chrome moly threaded adjuster ring, an external grease fitting, and a beautiful silver zinc plated housing finish.
The Delrin® bushing cups absorb shock and road noise so you get the quiet and smooth ride of a bushing as well as 28° of rotation! Our Del-Sphere pivot joints will always ship to you fully assembled, however, we also offer an optional adjusting tool that will allow you to do two things.
First, you can disassemble the Del-Sphere pivot joint for cleaning, inspection, etc. Second, you can adjust the amount of tension on the spherical ball. The amount of tension can be easily adjusted by using our optional adjustment tool to tighten or loosen the end retainer ring.
What that means is if over time and miles the tolerances open up you can simply re-adjust the retainer ring and have your pivot joint as tight as it was the day it was brand new. We doubt you’ll ever need to replace the Delrin® bushing cups, but they certainly can be. Unlike a spherical rod end, the Del-Sphere pivot joint is 100% rebuildable.

Our rear lower control arm relocation brackets for the 1982-2002 GM F-Body Camaro and Firebird with a Moser rear axle housing re-position your instant center by lowering your rear lower control arm angle for increased traction and anti-squat.
They lower the rear of the control arm up to 3.0″. This product is a must for lowered vehicles to correct your suspension geometry. Lowering your vehicle alters the rear lower control arm angle putting the rear of the control arm higher than the front, this causes massive wheel hop and traction loss.
NON-LOWERED vehicles will also see a dramatic increase in traction by lowering the rearward angle of the control arm with our relocation brackets. The lowered mounting holes are placed in the arc pattern of the factory length control arm, this allows a non-lowered F-Body to drop the rear control arm angle and not require a longer than factory (or adjustable) control arm as all geometry is correctly maintained. The anti-squat performance is providing most users with a full .10 or better 60′ reduction!
Our relocation brackets are CNC laser cut and formed from 3/16″ steel using state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology for precision tolerances. They must be welded in and all required hardware is included. Since the brackets must be welded in place, we ship them in a bare metal finish. Weld in control arm relocation brackets are the only SAFE and EFFECTIVE way to be installed.

UMI’s boxed lower control arms utilize our Roto-Joint technology for a bind free performance and quiet comfortable ride quality. The boxed control arms are fabricated from 0.120” wall thickness rectangular tubing, CNC machined drawn over mandrel bushing holders and MIG welded end caps to keep out unwanted road debris. Each control arm features the correct provisions for adding a stock or aftermarket rear sway bar, sway bar holes are reinforced with a 0.120” wall thickness steel sleeve that is TIG welded and sanded into place. The solid construction combined with the delrin lined Roto-Joints eliminate control arm flex and bushing deflection for improved traction and reduced wheel hop. The Roto-Joint design is a pivot ball lined with a greaseable delrin race designed to offer 28 degrees of total unrestricted movement, more than adequate for a bind free, low friction operation. The Roto-Joint design improves performance over the factory rubber and aftermarket polyurethane bushings by allowing the suspension to articulate correctly, and provide precision handling. The installed UMI Roto-Joint allows rear end free movement when high handling, auto cross or road race is a concern while still being a 100% streetable setup. The installed delrin race, which lines the spherical ball, absorbs shock and road noise for a quiet and smooth operation on any street or track driven vehicle. This control arm set features Roto-Joints on both sides of the control arms. This is designed for maximum performance and suspension travel. These Del-Sphere™ pivot jointed adjustable rear lower control arms for the 1971-1980 GM H-Body cars outperform the flexible, stamped steel arms and soft rubber bushings that come from the factory.
These rear LCAs are CNC laser cut from 1.25″ x .095″ wall DOM tubing and are 100% TIG welded for the ultimate in strength and appearance. They feature 0.875″ o.d. x .188″ wall DOM tubular rear sway bar mounting bolt through sleeves TIG welded in place to handle the most severe abuse.
Eliminate wheel hop, increase traction, and drastically improve handling with an easy bolt on installation. The Del-Sphere™ pivot joints provide for “bind-free” handling and no deflection launch performance. They’re available powder coated in your choice of bright red or gloss black for a brilliant and durable finish.
The control arm bushings on H-Body vehicles have a significant impact on your vehicle’s ride, comfort, handling, acceleration, noise and vibration. When the vehicle leans (rolls) in a turn, one side of the chassis moves up relative to the rear axle and the other side moves down.
The control arms must twist to allow for the axle to articulate, this causes the control arm bushings to bind. If this bind becomes excessive, it will raise the rear wheel rate and produce sudden and uncontrolled changes in handling such as snap oversteer.
The factory minimizes this suspension bind by using compliant rubber bushings. These soft bushings help accommodate the necessary motion of the control arms during body roll. However, the rubber bushings do not provide much in the way of forward and aft support which can cause wheel hop during hard acceleration and braking.
It is common to replace the stock rubber control arm bushings with polyurethane bushings to resolve the shortcomings of the factory’s soft rubber bushings. Polyurethane bushings eliminate wheel hop, reduce axle deflection, and improve straight line traction. However, the downside of polyurethane bushings is they prevent the necessary movement of the control arms during body roll, which in turn produces significant binding in the suspension when the vehicle is cornering.
The polyurethane bushings also place high stresses on the control arm mounts on the vehicle. Polyurethane bushed control arms do not allow for rotation of the control arm during cornering because of the stiffness of the bushings.

Wheel hop or traction issues? We have the solution! Optimize your vehicle’s instant center and improve forward traction by lowering the rear of the lower control arm 2″, 2-3/4″, or 3-1/4″. These bolt-in brackets are CAD designed to accommodate factory lower control arms as well as all popular aftermarket styles. Robust flanges inside the brackets add reinforcement and ensure factory bushings bolt right in. Brackets installed can provide an average 0.10 second (or better) 60-foot reduction and an overall improvement in launch consistency. Brackets are constructed of 3/16″ mild steel and CNC laser cut for precision tolerances. Relocation brackets are designed to work on both lowered and non-lowered vehicles and feature multiple settings to optimize vehicle handling and traction. Welding recommended on cars running drag radials or slicks and faster than 11 second ¼ mile time.
Installation: P/N 3018 bolt in relocation brackets are designed for the factory rear end housings and may not fit properly on aftermarket rear ends.
