StreetRays LS Swap steel brackets allow the installation of any 3rd or 4th generation LS series engine into Chevrolet / GMC trucks and SUVs frame configured for small or big block GM engines.  This bracket kit eliminates clearance and fitment issues when installing your LS engine by providing the adjustable mount configuration which allows for 2″ forward and 1/2″ back mounting positions.  Our LS Swap steel brackets are CNC cut & formed from 1/4″ high-carbon steel and our kit includes grade 10.9 and 12.9 hardware to keep your LS secured even in the highest torque and horsepower applications.  Our brackets is guaranteed to fit without any hassle.

Application / Fitment Notes:

Please use an oil pan from a GM truck LS engine for perfect clearance of steering components. These will allow use of low mount alternators but the rearward adjustability will be limited.

Low mounted A/C compressors from GM Trucks will fit, but rearward adjustability will NOT be possible. 

Also, low mount compressor units from the Corvette, Camaro, or Cadillac CTS-V will NOT clear properly.

These control arms from SSM Performance are designed to bolt a 1964-1972 GM A-Body 10-Bolt or 12-Bolt rear end into a 1978-1988 GM G-Body; this includes Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino, Regal, Grand National, Grand Prix and Cutlass. These upper control arms are built at the correct angle to attach to the G-Body chassis as well as the A-Body rear end “ears”. These control arms are a must any time this swap is being completed. If you’ve decided to add modern power to your ride using an LS series engine, this LS Swap Radiator Kit is the perfect way to protect your investment and ensure proper cooling system function.

We wanted to offer a solution for the budget-minded builder that also kept aesthetics in mind. Instead of an inline hose adapter with an NPT bung for you to plumb in your own fittings, which can look like junkyard parts hacked together and is susceptible to leaks, we created a unique LS Steam Vent Radiator Hose Adapter. This adapter makes quick work of several LS swap radiator hose issues with one simple piece. It features one 1.25″ end to match the water pump outlet, one 1.5″ end to match the upper radiator inlet, an integrated streamlined 1/4″ 90° hose barb fitting for the steam line, and a black finish to blend in with radiator hoses. The combination of this adapter with one of our professional-quality aluminum racing radiators means your search for an affordable and effective LS conversion radiator solution is over.

LS Steam Vent Radiator Hose Adapter Features

This LS1 Swap Radiator Kit features our double-pass universal aluminum radiator. These high-performance radiators feature 100% all-aluminum construction. The furnace-brazed core increases durability compared to other radiators with epoxy-glued or crimped-gasket sealing methods. Two rows of 1-inch aluminum tubes allow this radiator to out-cool a similarly sized radiator with five rows of copper tubes. A rugged billet aluminum filler neck with screw-in bleed is also included.

This radiator is designed for Chevy applications with both water necks on the passenger side.

Universal Aluminum Radiator Features:

  • No cheap epoxy glue or crimped in gaskets

Unlike the older SBC or BBC, the LS engine family features a thermostat that is located in the water pump housing. While this design allows for temperature and flow to be regulated before the coolant enters your engine, having the thermostat at a low point means that any air in the cooling system can easily get trapped in your engine. Air bubbles in cooling passages disrupt coolant flow, create hot-spots, and can cause overheating issues, pre-ignition, and detonation. None of these are things that your new (or used) LS will stand up to for very long without damage. Fortunately, there are steam ports in the heads that allow this trapped air to flow away from critical cooling locations to a high point outside of the cylinder heads. Since these engines utilize a closed pressurized cooling system, the steam tubes must be connected back into it at some point. Stock radiators in vehicles produced with LS engines feature a port to connect the steam lines to, and a direct-fit LS swap radiator with steam port provision is likely available for your ride – at a high price tag. Our kit allows you to spend less of your hard-earned cash on a cooling solution without sacrificing appearance under the hood.

GM A-Body cars went through a transformation in 1978, and although GM redesignated rear-wheel drive A-Body models as G-Bodies beginning in 1982, the platform remained relatively unchanged until 1988. The 1978-88 A & G-Body segment contains some of the more iconic muscle cars of that era, making them prime candidates for an LS swap. Trans-dapt Performance Products has been manufacturing engine mounts since the 60’s, and they focus on products that simplify the mating of automotivie components that were’nt designed to fit together in the first place. This engine swap mount kit is one of those efffort-saving products. The kit is designed to install an LS engine into 1978-87 Caballero, Cutlass, El Camino, Grand Prix, and Regal, or 1978-88 Monte Carlo vehicle models. Handwelded in Trans-Dapt’s Whittier, California manufacturing plant, this kit includes engine adapter brackets, rubber frame pads, and all Grade 8 hardware to install everything, including a connector bolt. To ensure a proper driveline angle, we strongly recommend the use of Trans-Dapt’s 6422 transmission crossmember (for use with T56, TH400, 4L60/65/70/80E transmissions). To lay a great foundation for maximum power output, we recommend the use of Hedman’s mid-length LS swap header sfor this same project.

  • For installing the 1997-2013 Gen III/ IV LS series engine into older GMC muscle cars.
  • Are slotted for adjustment with engine placement in the engine compartment.
  • Will allow you to move the engine from the initial bell housing position up to 2 1/2 inches forward, and up to 1/2 inch rearward. 
  • When torqued in place they do not allow the engine to move, even under high horsepower applications.
  • Precision CNC press brake folded with large radius die to reduce stress on the bend. 
  • These conversion mounts are designed to be used with the factory rubber clam shell style mounts on your initial frame.

Engine position (fore/aft or height) may need to be adjusted for clearance, depending on application           

Fits most LS engines, except LS7 or LS9 dry sump applications

Requires the use of LS3 style dipstick and tube: GM #12669528 and 12625031, respectively takes AC Delco PF48/PF48E, K&N HP-1017, or equivalent oil filter
