Our Pro-Series rear anti-roll sway bar for the 1978-1987 GM G-Body cars eliminates torque steer and body roll during hard launches and will drastically improve consistency and stability going down the track.

This rear sway bar will work with any aftermarket rear axle housing with 3.25″ diameter axle tubes, and will clear all aftermarket exhausts and suspension components.

Our bar stock is 1-5/16″ solid 4140 heat treated spring grade chrome moly steel. The bar is entirely heat formed and coined as one piece. We put our bar through this extensive process to insure that the final product will be the strongest, most durable sway bar on the market, and that it will be the most resistant to form alteration.

Most aftermarket anti-roll bars are cold-bent mild steel making them weaker at the bends, and more vulnerable to shape alteration. Our spherical rod ended adjustable end links allow you to pre-load your rear suspension for straight launches. We exclusively use extra heavy-duty 5/8″ spherical rod ends with a Teflon® self lubricating race.

These Del-Sphere pivot jointed adjustable rear lower control arms for the 1972-1976 Ford Torino and Ranchero outperform the flexible, stamped steel arms and soft rubber bushings that come from the factory.

Eliminate wheel hop, increase traction, and drastically improve handling with an easy bolt on installation. The Del-Sphere pivot joints provide for “bind-free” handling and no deflection launch performance. They’re available powder coated in your choice of bright red or gloss black for a brilliant and durable finish.

The adjustability feature allows for setting the pinion angle. The factory utilized an eccentric bolt that allowed for only 1 degree of pinion angle adjustment. If you replace your worn out factory bushings with new aftermarket rubber or polyurethane bushings they do not offer the eccentric adjustment. Our right hand and left hand threaded control arms allow for easy on-the-car adjustments, no need to unmount the control arms to make adjustments!

The control arm bushings on the 1972-1976 Ford Torino and Ranchero have a significant impact on your vehicle?s ride, comfort, handling, acceleration, noise and vibration. When the vehicle leans (rolls) in a turn, one side of the chassis moves up relative to the rear axle and the other side moves down.

The control arms must twist to allow for the axle to articulate, this causes the control arm bushings to bind. If this bind becomes excessive, it will raise the rear wheel rate and produce sudden and uncontrolled changes in handling such as snap oversteer.

The factory minimizes this suspension bind by using compliant rubber bushings. These soft bushings help accommodate the necessary motion of the control arms during body roll. However, the rubber bushings do not provide much in the way of forward and aft support which can cause wheel hop during hard acceleration and braking.

It is common to replace the stock rubber control arm bushings with polyurethane bushings to resolve the shortcomings of the factory’s soft rubber bushings. Polyurethane bushings eliminate wheel hop, reduce axle deflection, and improve straight line traction. However, the downside of polyurethane bushings is they prevent the necessary movement of the control arms during body roll, which in turn produces significant binding in the suspension when the vehicle is cornering.

The polyurethane bushings also place high stresses on the control arm mounts on the vehicle. Polyurethane bushed control arms do not allow for rotation of the control arm during cornering because of the stiffness of the bushings.

Del-Spher Pivot Joints:

The Spohn Performance Del-Sphere pivot joint solves the shortcomings of the factory rubber and aftermarket polyurethane bushings. Our Del-Sphere pivot joint incorporates a spherical ball which is surrounded by Delrin® bushing cups.

Think of the Del-Sphere pivot joint as a Delrin® bushed spherical rod end. After over a year of R&D testing here at Spohn Performance on a streetable spherical joint the Del-Sphere pivot joint is the final result. Designed and manufactured exclusively by Spohn Performance, we have taken street suspension performance to the next level.

Our Del-Sphere pivot joint features a one piece forged and heat treated chrome moly housing, a heat treated and chrome plated chrome moly spherical ball, Delrin® bushing cups, heat treated retainer washer and snap ring, heat treated and chrome plated chrome moly threaded adjuster ring, an external grease fitting, and a beautiful silver zinc plated housing finish.

The Delrin® bushing cups absorb shock and road noise so you get the quiet and smooth ride of a bushing as well as 28 degrees of rotation! Our Del-Sphere pivot joints will always ship to you fully assembled, however, we also offer an optional adjusting tool that will allow you to do two things.

First, you can disassemble the Del-Sphere pivot joint for cleaning, inspection, etc. Second, you can adjust the amount of tension on the spherical ball. The amount of tension can be easily adjusted by using our optional adjustment tool to tighten or loosen the end retainer ring.

What that means is if over time and miles the tolerances open up you can simply re-adjust the retainer ring and have your pivot joint as tight as it was the day it was brand new. We doubt you’ll ever need to replace the Delrin® bushing cups, but they certainly can be. Unlike a spherical rod end, the Del-Sphere pivot joint is 100% rebuildable.

Our pre-load adjustable tubular steering brace for the 1983-1992 GM F-Body Camaro and Firebird is an upgraded, stronger version of the “Wonder Bar” that was standard equipment on many of the IROC and 1LE cars. No longer available through GM, we decided to design our own version of this vital piece of equipment.

This tubular steering brace is designed to stiffen the front subframe and reinforce the steering box mount. This area is well known to be problematic on the third generation F-Body cars.

The tubular steering brace will not only provide for firmer steering response, but it will prevent the front subframe stress cracking problem caused by the flex of the steering box. That’s why the “Wonder Bar” is considered a must do upgrade on any third generation F-Body.

It’s constructed of 1.25″ x .120″ wall DOM tubing and CNC laser cut 3/16″ steel mounting brackets. Our laser cut mounting brackets are designed to work with factory front sway bar bushings with the locator tabs and bushing to frame inserts, they will also work with the universal style aftermarket polyurethane bushings.

This adjustable version of the tubular steering brace uses a 3/4″-16 right and left hand threaded 4140 chrome moly double adjuster placed in the center of the brace that threads into TIG welded 4130 chrome moly threaded tube adapters, for easy on-the-car pre-load adjustment.

Is this adjustment a gimmick? Honestly, a resounding no. We built one of these after a serious brain storming session just to see what it would do. We were quite honestly amazed at the crisp steering response it provided, so we decided to offer it as a product. What the adjustment allows you to do is place pre-loaded outboard tension on to the front subframes. It makes for a very tight front end!

It’s available powder coated in your choice of bright red or gloss black for a brilliant and durable finish.

Fitment Note: Will not fit 1982 GM F-Body or the 1989 Turbo Trans-Am.

One was to provide the performance capabilities needed for the toughest race tracks, the second was to provide the strength and durability required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle. We’re proud to say that we have accomplished both. If you are looking for the best front coil over suspension system for the third generation F-Body, you just found it!

Once thought of as a race only item, coil-over suspensions are now considered the hot set-up for any highly tuned street car. The combination of incredible handling with great ride quality is what one expects from a world class car.

With a Spohn “Pro-Tour” coil-over conversion kit you will have the no-compromise handling you demand without paying a penalty in comfort. It allows lowering of the vehicle over 2″, yet still maintains ample strut travel!

Warning! All coil-over kits are not created equal. Compare the features of our kit with any other manufacturer’s kit and you’ll quickly see the differences. Careful attention to detail by our design team is why the Spohn coil over kit avoids the design pitfalls of others. You can always depend on Spohn Performance to provide you with the best parts for your F-Body!

Other coil over kits on the market use a top spring hat mounted against the stock upper strut mount. This places the entire weight of the front of the car on to the stock upper strut mount.

With street driving and vehicle loads, these systems cause the stock strut mounts to distort, bend, and fatigue, ending in parts failure. The Spohn “Pro-Tour” front coil over system includes our fabricated spherical upper strut mounts combined with a lower reinforcement plate that totally sandwiches and reinforces the entire strut tower.

Fabricated Steel Spherical Upper Strut Mount Specifications:

  • CNC laser cut 1/4″ steel base plate.
  • 4″ DOM steel tubing.
  • CNC laser cut 3/16″ steel top hat.
  • CNC machined bearing mount tube – TIG welded.
  • Chrome moly spherical bearing with a Teflon® self lubricating race.
  • Underside of strut mount includes the coil over spring mount.
  • Powder coated gloss black for a brilliant and durable finish.

Adjustable Front Coil Over System Specifications:

  • CNC laser cut 1/4″ steel reinforcement plate fits in the entire recessed area of the underside of the strut tower.
  • CNC laser cut 3/16″ strut mount retainer with Grade 10.9 mounting bolts and stainless steel nuts.
  • CNC machined 6061 T-6 aluminum threaded coil over strut sleeves (clear hard anodized). Custom designed and built by Spohn Performance. Specifically designed for use on the thirdgen front strut. Proper wall thickness is maintained to support the load they are carrying.
  • CNC machined 6061 T-6 tempered aluminum adjustable bottom spring seat (clear hard anodized) allows for ride height adjustment. Custom designed and built by Spohn Performance for use on our threaded strut sleeves. Includes nylon tipped (no-mar) set screws. Allows lowering of vehicle over 2″ yet still maintains ample strut travel!
  • 2.5″ Torrington thrust washers and bearings on the bottom AND the top of the spring, provides for no spring bind and allows for easy on car ride height adjustments (spanner wrenches included).
  • 2.5″ i.d. x 12″ long coil over springs.

These LCAs are supplied with offset rod end spacers to keep the LCA positioned as inboard as possible for maximum tire clearance on big tire cars.

These offset spherical rod ended adjustable rear lower control arms for the 1978-1987 GM G-Body cars outperform the flexible, stamped steel arms and soft rubber bushings that come from the factory.

Eliminate wheel hop and increase traction with an easy bolt on installation. The high quality spherical rod ends provide for “bind-free” handling and no deflection launch performance.

All of our spherical rod ended components come equipped with XM Series extra high strength, chrome moly spherical rod ends with a Teflon® lined self lubricating race.

When shopping around for spherical rod ended components, do not shop on price alone. The lower grade rod ends (which are much cheaper) will not hold their tolerances like the premium rod ends we utilize, this will cause substantial amounts of noise and a loose fit in a short amount of time.

Adjustability is one the most important things when tuning in your street car’s suspension. That is why we have taken the time to develop the Ultimate “on car” adjustable upper control arms for the rear on your GM vehicle. There were no short cuts when manufacturing these arms, only the best materials and components money can buy were used to build our “Ultimate Arms”. Well known weak areas where other manufactures use mild steel have been replaced with aircraft quality 4140 chrome moly steel featuring a TIG welded construction. The upper control arm mounting points feature CNC machined 0.250″ mild steel, 4140 Chrome-Moly tube adaptors and a high strength 4140 chrome moly heat treated 1.000″ solid adjuster; truly overkill for any application!

For ease of adjustment UMI has designed our Ultimate Arms with on-car adjustability. You can easily make pinion angle adjustments in the garage or at the track; it’s as simple as loosening two nuts! Using UMI’s unique chrome moly on-car adjuster, simply turn the adjuster with the control arms on the car to quickly lengthen or shorten the control arm length. Pinion angle adjustments are a must when wanting to lower your track 60-foot times, increase traction and reduce unwanted wheel hop. Our QA1 Teflon lined spherical rod end design allows for a bind free operation, making a great upgrade for both your track and auto cross driven vehicle.
