UMI’s F-body and G-body bump steer kit is designed to reduce or eliminate toe change during suspension travel (also known as “bump steer”). Reduction of bump steer improves handling and straight line stability and enhances overall precision of the steering system. These direct bolt-in kits allow the builder to relocate the outer tie rod end lower than stock (or higher if necessary). The stud taper is designed for exact factory fit for each application and is constructed of 4140 CrMo for strength and durability, no spindle drilling required. The adjuster is 6061-T6 Aluminum hex for lightweight strength and features a hard anodized protective finish. Kits include 6 each of shims in 0.125”, 0.1875” and 0.250”. These race-tested bump steer kits are 100% designed and manufactured with pride in Philipsburg, PA – USA.

UMI’s 3060-1 bump steer kit allows adjustment of the outer tie rod height which in turn can help reduce or eliminate toe change during wheel travel. This kit includes a heavy duty 5/8″ bolt and washer kit with a wide adjustment range along with an anodized sleeve and jam nuts. The 3060-1 is recommended for ultra high performance use such as large tire road racing, auto-x and high speed drag racing. This race proven kit helps improve steering precision and feedback. Manufactured and raced with pride out of Philipsburg, PA – USA.

Notes:

Spindle drilling is required to accept 5/8″ adjustment bolt. After drilling, the spindle cannot be returned to factory taper.

Part# BS-2

Altering ride height can result in unwanted toe change during suspension travel. This is known as bump steer. Bump steer kits allow the user to alter the tie rod position on the spindle to correct bump steer.

Our bump steer kit comes complete with black annodized billet aluminum tie rod adjusters, 5/8″ extreme duty Teflon® lined chrome moly spherical rod ends, and 4140 chrome moly tie rod to spindle adapters.

Our tie rod end to spindle adapters do not require you to drill out your tapered spindle hole. Our tie rod end to spindle adapters are CNC machined from 4140 chrome moly and are machined to be a direct bolt on to the GM spindle taper.

These are on-the-car bump steer adjustable. The tie rod to spindle adapters are fully threaded with double locking jam nuts for easy up-down adjustment that eliminates the need for different sized spacers.

Our tie rod end set-up features 5/8” 4130 chrome moly safety washers on the top and bottom of the rod end for adequate articulation spacing and for safe retention of the rod end.
