UMI’s boxed lower control arms utilize our Roto-Joint technology for a bind free performance and quiet comfortable ride quality. The boxed control arms are fabricated from 0.120” wall thickness rectangular tubing, CNC machined drawn over mandrel bushing holders and MIG welded end caps to keep out unwanted road debris. Each control arm features the correct provisions for adding a stock or aftermarket rear sway bar, sway bar holes are reinforced with a 0.120” wall thickness steel sleeve that is TIG welded and sanded into place. The solid construction combined with the delrin lined Roto-Joints eliminate control arm flex and bushing deflection for improved traction and reduced wheel hop. The Roto-Joint design is a pivot ball lined with a greaseable delrin race designed to offer 28 degrees of total unrestricted movement, more than adequate for a bind free, low friction operation. The Roto-Joint design improves performance over the factory rubber and aftermarket polyurethane bushings by allowing the suspension to articulate correctly, and provide precision handling. The installed UMI Roto-Joint allows rear end free movement when high handling, auto cross or road race is a concern while still being a 100% streetable setup. The installed delrin race, which lines the spherical ball, absorbs shock and road noise for a quiet and smooth operation on any street or track driven vehicle. This control arm set features Roto-Joints on both sides of the control arms. This is designed for maximum performance and suspension travel. Roto-Joints are greaseable and low maintenance making an excellent street setup for your cruiser or race car!

UMI’s bolt-in rear coilover bracket kit is a complete mounting solution for your factory axle 1978-1988 GM G-Body. This race-proven lower bracket bolts in using the standard trailing arm mounting hole as well as an additional reinforcement hole normally used by the standard rear shock. This bracket features a multi-position design to allow further fine tuning of ride height and shock location (±¾”). The kit also features upper reinforcement tabs to distribute the load from the T-bar as well as complete upper and lower hardware. There is no cutting required and your car can be returned to stock at any time. 100% designed, manufactured and raced out of Philipsburg, PA-USA and always US materials.
Installation & Fitment Note: Coilover brackets are designed to fit factory rear end housings ONLY and may not fit aftermarket rear ends. Coilover kit P/N 3049 offers more clearance and options for aftermarket rear ends than P/N 3048. UMI recommends installing the 3049-bracket kit, setting the ride height as desired, then purchasing the correct length shocks. Contact us for recommendations. Rear shocks may not clear all exhaust tail pipes. UMI is not responsible for exhaust clearance issues.

The UMI Performance, Inc. reinforcing front frame brace is used to stiffen the front frame horns and front crossmember area on the GM G-Body platform. The UMI three point frame brace takes the place of the popular “Grand Prix Bar” and also the stock frame reinforcements. No drilling is required and Grade 8 hardware is included. This brace weighs in at less than 10lbs and is recommended for street, strip, auto-x or road racing. The UMI P/N 3053 is available with tough red or black powder coat and is designed and manufactured with pride in Philipsburg, PA – USA. The UMI P/N 3053 is used on our popular G-Body Green Machine.

UMI’s Stage 2 handling kit includes everything to upgrade and rebuild the suspension on your classic 1978-1988 GM G-Body. The Stage 2 kit includes upper and lower A-Arms with 1/2″ taller upper ball joints, heavy duty UMI sway bars with new end links and greaseable bushings, Bilstein shocks, premium lowering springs, rear tubular upper and lower control arms, replacement rear end housing bushings and heavy duty tubular frame braces. We also include all new Grade 10.9 hardware with locking nuts to complete the installation. This kit will make any classic cruiser feel like a modern day muscle car! UMI’s Stage 2 may be our entry level complete kit but it isn’t entry level performance or entry level quality. Perfect for the weekend warrior looking to go for a back road cruise, perhaps hit the drag strip or even an auto-x. As with all UMI Performance products, this kit is 100% Made In USA. Available in red or black powder coat. Bilstein shocks are yellow/blue.
Spring notes: Springs are intended for the Chevrolet small block engine. Lightweight LS may require trimming. An additional 1/4″ front end drop may occur with a full weight big block. UMI Performance 1.250″ (32mm) solid front sway bar is designed to reduce body roll, understeer and increase corning capabilities resulting in a more balanced suspension. This front sway bar is more rigid than the factory 7/8″ front sway bar and bolts directly in place with no modifications. Front sway bar is manufactured from 1.250″ 4140 chrome moly steel, CNC bent and formed as one piece to insure maximum strength and performance. Each kit includes new Energy Suspension end links and greaseable sway bar bushings with new zinc plated clamshells. Sway bar is available powder coated bright red or gloss black for a durable long-lasting finish.
